The route
The Kampenwand cable car rises from Aschau. From the top station a path leads to the Steinlingalm and beneath the rocks. The summit cross is reachable only via a protected passage.
Who is this walk for?
This walk needs stamina and sure feet on mountain paths. It is usually too long for small children.
Good to knowThe final section to the cross is rocky and not for beginners.
Getting to the start
Prien am Chiemsee station lies on the Munich–Salzburg line. In summer the historic Chiemsee railway takes you to the Stock landing, where boats leave for the islands.
