The route
The Wallberg cable car starts in Rottach-Egern. At the top a panorama path rounds the ridge, with the chapel and Wallberghaus nearby. A steeper path leads to the 1,722 m summit.

This walk suits beginners and usually children. Normal fitness and sturdy shoes are enough.

Getting to the start
The Bayerische Regiobahn runs directly from Munich main station to Gmund and Tegernsee. At weekends the roads are often jammed and car parks full early, so the train is usually the better choice.
